TA7642 Single Radio Chip. The TA7642 is a single chip AM Radio Integrated Circuit (IC) with AGC. It replaces the ZN414Z, and the MK414 radio IC. This IC has many equivalents such as CD7642, UTC7642, and LMF501. It is suitable for low voltage portable Radios and other wireless AM systems. The package is TO-92.

Some of the features of this chip are:

Low operating voltage: VCC=1.3V
Low Quiescent Current: ICCO=0.2mA
Low external components required
Uses only three pins
There is no need to use feedback regeneration
Does not need germanium detector diodes
Avoids use of trimmers
No need to use a magnetic-flux creating Radio Frequency Choke (RFC)
